I plugged it in for ~3 minutes and then went to another room. A couple of minutes later, I noticed a smell of burning plastic. I returned to find that one of the LEDs had melted and burned out. Thankfully I noticed it quickly or else it may have caused a fire. If I try plugging it in now, it flashes erratically and the burnt LED glows a dim red. It's unfortunate, as it did look quite pretty for the few minutes that it worked. Perhaps I just got unlucky, but buyer beware....I wouldn't place these LEDs next to anything that could catch fire.
