Neither wood, nor glass, but it is silent. There is a plastic lens covering the hands, but the fake wood trim is shiny and cheap looking.

Knives hold well, but have a tendency to rotate parallel to the bar. I'm sceptical that the double-sided tape and glue will last in the long term. Wish there were screw holes.

Quiet. Only the top bowl area is stainless steel - the water reservoir is plastic. Came with a 4 outlet flower shaped head in addition to the 2 sided head seen in the photos. Our cats haven't used it yet, hopefully they just need some time to get used to it.

Didn't dim very well when all three bulbs in the circuit were replaced. I tried two models of dimmer, neither worked. I solved the problem by not replacing one incandescent bulb . With this extra resistance in the circuit, the LED bulbs dim. A perfectionist wouldn't be happy as the incadecent and LED bulbs dim with slightly different brightness.
