Blackbird 4K Series 2-channel HDMI Audio Extractor - Monoprice®

Works great. Using this between Blu-ray player (Oppo-105D) and Kef LS50W speakers in order to get 24bit/96KHz Optical audio from Pure Audio Blu-ray disks. The optical out from the Blu-ray player is pegged at 16/48 but the Blackbird is able to extract the full resolution and bit rate from the HDMI out from the player. Note that the EDID switch needs to be in Bitstream or TV position to get the 24/96 stereo LPCM audio from the Optical Out. In the 2ch LPCM position, the sample rate from the Optical Out is only 48KHz. I don't have anything connected to the HDMI out. Confirmed these sample rates with an oscilloscope.

Nice build quality but unfortunately Prime Cables own brand XLR cables are wired incorrectly. The industry standard is pin 1=GND, Pin2=plus(hot) and pin 3=minus. But PrimeCables are wired pin1=plus, Pin2=minus and pin3=GND. The signal does get through, but the shield end up being used as a signal wire and a signal wire as a shield. This can cause hum and weird AM radio type noise which XLR is meant to overcome! The metal shell at each end is floating (not connected to the shield braid) which is just as well as hot signal from the mic/pre-amp would end up being shorted to chassis. Really disappointed with these cables, have a whole bunch of them that I'll need to rewire at both ends now.
